Adobe Premiere es la primera aplicación que he usado para editar vídeo y actualmente es una herramienta que funciona dentro de la Creative Suite 4, aunque hace algunas versiones atrás (Adobe Premiere Pro CS2) premiere poseía la capacidad de exportar directamente a DVD sin pasar por Adobe ENCORE. En mi trabajo, muchos de mis alumnos y clientes ignoraban que Premiere Pro CS2 poseía ésta capacidad, así que para quienes aún usan ésta versión (todavía hay muchos que conservan sus placas Matrox RT.X10 o RT.X100 con premiere Pro CS2), éste mini tuto NO FUNCIONA con las nuevas versiones de adobe Premiere Pro CS3 y CS4, pronto agregaré algún tutorial sobre Encore para generar DVDs y Blurays.

Primero, se debe cargar un clip con la opción del menú Archivo>importar>vídeo o haciendo doble click en el área vacía del panel de proyecto.

Adobe Premiere was the first app I ever used to do video editing, currently it´s integrated into the Creative Suite 4, but only some versions behind (Adobe Premiere Pro CS2) Premiere was able to export direct to DVD with menues and burn from the timeline, without using Adobe Encore. At my work, many of my customers and students ignored this feature, so those whom still use that version (there are still a lot of Matrox RT.X10 and Matrox RT.X100 systems around so Premiere Pro CS2 still very much alive), this mini tuto WON´T work with newer versions like Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 or CS4, I will soon add a tutorial about the workflow using Encore to make menu DVDs and Blueray discs.

Firstly, load a clip with the FILE>import>Video menu option or by double click on the empty area of the project panel.

En la línea de tiempo, tenemos botones en la parte izquierda junto a la regla, el botón del medio permite agregar arcadores de DVD. SE agregan marcas de DVD en distintas partes de la línea de tiempo, cada uno será un capítulo y poseerá su propio botón en el menú principal

At the left of the ruler in the timeline there is the DVD marker which will divide the timeline into clips with botons on the menu.

Con cada marcador aparece una ventana emergente donde se selecciona el nombre de dicho marcador, éste nombre será el nombre del botón en el menú.

For each marker a new popup will ask for the name, this name will be the dvd menu boton name.

Una vez que el clip posee los marcadores (cuando el clip ya ha sido editado claro está) se debe acceder a la opción del menú Ventana>Diseño DVD.

When the clip has the markers (we asume it has been edited) must access the menu option Window > DVD Design.

En ésta ventana emergente tenemos 2 opciones, la primera es para generar un DVD sin menúes. La segunda opción permite agregar las plantillas de menúes para DVD.

In the popup, there are 2 options, the first one makes the dvd an autoplay without menues, the second option lets select a menu from the DVD menu templates library..

los nombres fueron agreados en cada botón, aunque para cambiar cualquier texto simplemento se debe hacer doble click sobre el mismo.

the marker names has been turned the boton names of the menu, to change some simply double click on them to add a different text, in this case I change PLAY MOVIE for its spanish equivalent "Reproducir".

Hay 3 botones principales en ésta ventana:

1 - Cambiar plantilla si deseamos cambiar el diseño del menú por otra plantilla diferente. Los nombre que le pusimos a los botones no se verán afectados.

2 - Previsualizar DVD, es un EMULADOR de un reproductor de DVD lo que nos permitirá saber cómo se verá nuestro disco con menú antes de grabarlo.

3 - Graba DVD, es el paso final, indicamos al programa que genere el manú y pepare la compresión para obtener el DVD final.

There are 3 mayor botons on this window:

1 - Change TEMPLATE, if the user wants to change the current design for other template, the boton nameswill not be affected.

2 - Preview DVD, simulates a home DVD player to see if our menu works propertly before making any actual DVD burning.

3 - Burn DVD, is the final step, simply prepares to generate the dvd and make all the render for us.

en ésta ventana el soft nos pide como vamos a hacer nuestro DVD, la opción DISCO, genera y graba directamente un DVD desde adobe Premiere Pro CS2 sin usar una aplicación externa, la opción CARPETA es para generar la estructura de DVD en una carpeta con sus respectivas sub carpetas con archivos VOB, IFO, etc. Mi preferida es Imagen ISO que hace la imagen del DVD, perfecta para luego quemar con cualquier aplicación de windows o incluso linux o mac, además de tener TODO dentro de una archivo.

Debajo de éstas opciones está la UBICACION donde irán a parar nuestros archivos y la cantidad de copias si es que generamos directamente el DVD quemado.

En la codificación están los parámetros de render para los archivos MPG-2 del DVD, a más alta calidad menos tiempo de vídeo cabrán en el soporte.

In this window, the soft ask how to make the DVD, first with the DISC option the soft will compile, encode and burn the disc for us without our intervention, the second option generates the DVD stucture in a directory with all its IFO and VOBs, etc. I prefer to make the disk in a IMAGE ISO, which compiles the whole DVD with menus on a file so we can later burn it into any DVD burning app even linux or mac apps can burn these kind of files.

then the BROWSE boton is for indicate a bin to make the files, if DISC option was used the duplicates number wil be activated to know how much many discs will be burned.at the botom, there are encoding options, with the adjustments botons indicate different options of the MPEG-2 files which will go to the DVD, remember, more quality means less video time in the physical burned disc.

En la opción AJUSTES, se abre la ventana de Adobe Media Encoder, donde podremos seleccionar preseteos para la calidad de nuestro vídeo como se ve en la imagen, o debajo personalizar los valores de calidad/ancho de banda.A la izquierda está la simulación del vídeo como quedará renderizado, es a modo referencial claro está si movemos el tiempo en éste vídeo la actualización será lentísima.
